Why Air Duct Sealing is Essential in San Francisco

Signs You Might Need Air Duct Sealing in San Francisco:

Are your utility bills unusually high during the summer or winter? Does it take longer to heat or cool your rooms? Are dust and debris being blown throughout your home? These could be signs of problems with your air ducts, such as holes, leaks, disconnected ducts, or unbalanced air distribution.

Sealing your air ducts can create a more comfortable and energy-efficient home. According to Energy Star, 20-30% of the air moving through your ducts can be lost due to these issues, causing your heating or cooling system to work harder and drawing dust and debris into your home from the attic or crawl space.

The Air Doctor Standards

Air Doctor adheres to NADCA standard specification guide and uses the source removal method. We use a portable HEPA filtered air duct vacuum system (and/or gas-powered commercial air duct vacuums) to clean all supply ducts, return air ducts, and plenums. This system is brought into each room and used in conjunction with a compressed air whip (and/or rotating power brushes). The air whip agitates the duct while the HEPA filtered air duct vacuum system creates a negative vacuum at 3500 cfm (up to 10,000 cfm with our gas-powered commercial air duct vacuums). Once each supply air duct is cleaned, the return air system is cleaned in the same fashion. Finally, we clean the furnace unit.
